How do I mount and align a crosswalk lighting (CXL) fixture?

This article describes and illustrates basic crosswalk lighting (CXL) installation considerations.

Product applicability

This article applies to the following products:

  • MX Series: R920-MX

CXL Fixture Mounting Height

Typical fixture mounting heights are 13 feet for a narrow crosswalk and 15 feet for wider crossings.

These are guidelines only, please consult the project plans or contact Carmanah for assistance.

CXL Fixture Aiming

Crosswalk lighting fixtures (CXL's) should always be positioned so that the fixture is projecting over the roadway and not down towards the pedestrian waiting area or sidewalk.
