Can I change the flash pattern for my MX flasher module?

This article discusses flash patterns with MX systems.

Product applicability

The following products are discussed in this article:

  • MX Series: R920-MX, R829-MX, R247-MX, CHEVRON-MX, WWD-MX and SPEEDCHECK-MX

MX flasher modules have embedded default flash patterns within them and cannot be changed, except for Chevron LED signs and various LED signs.

Flasher Module Flash Pattern

RRFB

 WW+S (wig-wag plus simultaneous; meets IA-21)

Beacon

 0.5s on, 0.5s off (meets MUTCD)

LED SignÂą

 0.25s on, 0.75s off (meets MUTCD)

Chevron LED Sign²

User adjustable:

  • Flash On Time = 100 - 749 ms
    • Time each chevron LED sign is on for
  • Cycle Duration = 5 - 3600 s
    • Duration of a triggered activation
  • Flashes Per Minute = 30 - 120 FPM
    • Number of flashes each system will complete per minute

ÂąLED signs can have their flash pattern changed using MX Field App:

  • 0.1s on, 0.9s off
  • 0.25s on, 0.75s off
  • 0.5s on, 0.5s off
  • Steady on

²Chevron LED signs flash in synchronization or sequential flash patterns. Settings exposed depend on which flash pattern selected.
