What is a "digital key" for my MX system?
This article discusses MX Field App and MX Cloud users and how they are connected to each other.
Product applicability
The following products are discussed in this article:
- MX Series: R920-MX, R829-MX, R247-MX, CHEVRON-MX and WWD-MX
MX systems require the use of pairing over Bluetooth for local connectivity. This is done from your mobile device and MX Field App. Pairing is done through one of two methods:
- Usage of the pairing button within the power module (MX Field App user).
- Remotely sent from MX Cloud (MX Cloud user).
- If you are an MX Field App user you will be required to pair using the button. Once paired you will now possess the digital key for up to 14 days before having to login with your profile again. The app will show a "key" icon for this system and any other system that meets the requirement of being paired within the last 14 days.
- If you are an authorized MX Cloud user you will automatically receive the digital key once logged into MX Filed App. The app will show a "key" icon for all systems that are part of the MX Cloud account. You are not required to pair using the button and can tap on the system to gain instant access.
MX Field App users not authorized with the MX Cloud account cannot pair with a system if it is "locked out" via MX Cloud. See our article here for more information.
System must have an active subscription for the digital key to be remotely sent from MX Cloud.
