How many light bars (RRFBs) can I sustainably connect to my E/F/G Series system?
This article details the maximum number of light bars that can be connected to Carmanah RRFB systems.
Product applicability
The following products are discussed in this article:
- E Series: R920-E
- F Series: R920-F
- G Series: SC315-G
The E/F Series systems are fully prewired by Carmanah and are more limited than the G Series cabinet-based systems. Please refer to the table below.
Product | Type | Prewired | Light Bar Connections |
E Series (R920-E) | Solar Engine | Yes | 4 |
F Series (R920-F) | Solar Engine | Yes | 4 |
G Series (SC315-G) | Power Cabinet (solar or AC capable) |
No¹ | 8² |
¹ Terminal blocks are exposed to the end-user. Everything up to the terminal blocks is prewired by Carmanah for convenience.
² The exposed terminal blocks are ready for a total of four RRFBs. Additional RRFBs can be doubled up on the terminal blocks using ring terminals, thus increasing the capability to a total of eight.
The Carmanah Energy Management System (EMS) is capable of driving up to eight RRFBs while still meeting our standard RRFB intensity, which is more than twice the required SAE J595 Class 1 minimum standard. For the AC-powered SC315-G systems, there is no concern for sustainability. Other solar-powered systems will require an Solar Power Report (SPR) to confirm system sustainability for your installation configuration and location.
