Why isn't my MX system reporting in via MX Cloud anymore?

This article discusses a potential firmware update required for your MX system to retain cellular communication capabilities.

The following products are discussed in this article:

  • MX Series: R920-MX, R829-MX, R247-MX, CHEVRON-MX and WWD-MX

In November 2024, Carmanah deployed an over-the-air (OTA) cellular modem firmware update to all MX Series systems that were in service (powered on and operational). Certain systems may not have received this update due to:

  • Poor cellular signal
  • System was not deployed yet
  • System was not functioning
  • Update was not successful

In instances where the OTA update was not successful, each system will require an on-site update using the MX Field App.

If your system has been identified as requiring this firmware update, or your system no longer reports into MX Cloud, follow the instructions outlined in our technical bulletin.
