How can I check the beacon activation count for my system?
This article shows how to determine the current pedestrian activation counts for your beacon system, whether you have a standard Carmanah beacon system or a Polara iNX/iDX push button.
Product applicability
The following products are discussed in this article:
- E Series: R920-E, R820-E
- F Series: R920-F, R820-F
- G Series: SC315-G, R820-G
There are two methods of determining the pedestrian activation count:
- Using the built-in activation count on the Energy Management System (EMS).
- For systems equipped with a Polara iNX/iDX pedestrian push button, the Polara Field Service App can be used.

The system needs to be powered for at least 24 hours before a value will be shown for average activations.
If the power has been removed from your system, you will lose any historical averaged activation count data held in volatile memory.

You can toggle on the Auto-Refresh Counters option so it will update in real-time while on the Counters screen. Otherwise, you will need to navigate in and out of this screen to receive an update.
If you have the Polara iDX push button, you will also see a counter for iDetect Activations (contactless sensor). This is helpful in determining if pedestrians are adopting the use of the contactless sensor.
The Counters menu is available starting with firmware version 1.0.1. Refer to this article for information on updating the firmware for a Polara iNX/iDX.
